Joe Ryan, candidate for Congress in the 52nd District
The Only INDEPENDENT Candidate Running in the the 52nd District

Joe Ryan Does not Accept Money from Anyone!

JOE RYAN IS THE BEST CHOICE FOR THE INDEPENDENT VOTERS OF THE 52ND DISTRICT:

Unlike partisan candidates from the two major parties, Joe Ryan can work with citizens from across the political spectrum, since he forms his views by educating himself outside of the major party idea-filtering process, and by listening to persons who rely on logic and reason rather than talking points and party dogma. Furthermore, Joe Ryan can be depended on to act in the District's interest, instead of spending an inordinate amount of time listening to contributors.
Joe Ryan has far more experience in business, and an education that is more suited to serving in congress than his Republican opponent, Duncan Hunter, jr. Joe Ryan's views are not absorbed straight from his Dad, lobbyist, or party hacks.
Joe Ryan's opponent from the Democratic Party is merely 'going through the motions in 2010' to fill the spot for the Democrats. The party is not sending the usual support or money his way (as they did for Mike Lumpkin), because they've written off the race. The Democratic Party candidate warned the party faithful they would have to support him with money or that he would not do much. They haven't responded with cash, and he's staying home from 4th of July parades (where entry was free for the asking) and other major events. It seems he's thrown in the towel.

Messages From Joe Ryan to persons registered as Independents:

VOTERS ABANDON DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND REPUBLICAN PARTY IN DROVES TO BECOME INDEPENDENTS: Voters are abandoning the two major parties in droves. In all 5 congressional Districts located within San diego County, Independent voters comprise 25-30% of the electorate. The San diego County Registrar has not updated their registration totals in 2009, so chances are independents comprise almost 1/3 of the voters in all 5 Socal Congressional districts at this time. By the time the next election is held, considering how the Democrats and Republicans are handling their political 'business', voters registered independent may comprise up to 35% of the voting electorate. That would put the independent registration on a par - countywide - with the two major parties.

THE SDMEDIA IS TRYING TO KEEP INDEPENDENTS IN THE MAJOR PARTY'S FOLD: The SD media has dictated that Independents aren't 'serious' candidates. This allows the two major party's candidates to fight for the 'independent voters', just as if those voters never rejected their corrupt parties! The media has rigged the discourse, so there is no independent movement at all. The two major parties are conspiring with the media to manipulate elections. In other words, the media and operatives from the two major parties have partnered-up against independents.

MINOR CANDIDATES = MAJOR SCARE FOR BIG BOYS FROM MAJOR PARTIES: With independent registration totals approaching 30% in the 52nd congressional district, the two major parties are very scared of any candidate, not matter how minor, who might affect a particular race, or get the independent movement rolling in San Diego County. If a candidate like Joe Ryan received just 1/2 of the total votes available from persons registered non-partisan, he would garner the votes of approximately 15% of the district's electorate; thus affecting the outcome of almost any close race between the two major party candidates. Don't you think the Democratic party leadership and the republican party leadership are aware of that fact? It's not about stopping a candidate like Joe Ryan from rising up to sweep the election ; instead it's all about stopping Joe Ryan or any other Independent from even getting a tiny fraction of the vote. Independent candidates - like Joe Ryan - represent the future, and the two major parties and the SD media don't like what they see in their crystal ball.

WE NEED MORE INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR EVERY MAJOR OFFICE, TO GATHER MOMENTUM FOR INDEPENDENTS & BECAUSE INDEPENDENTS CAN WIN IN 2010/2012: In 2008, Joe Ryan became perhaps the first candidate in over fifty years to run for a major political office - as an independent - in San Diego County. Considering that almost 1/3 of the electorate considers themselves 'Independents', that's very odd. Independents candidates wishing to participate in the political process have extremely high hurdles placed in their path, and they have to overcome the media's partnerships with the two major parties; Yet, that doesn't seem to completely explain why Independents NEVER run for office. There seems to be a reluctance to engage the two major parties that - in some cases - might only be explained by reference to the 'Stockholm Syndrome'. A lone Independent is easy for the SDMedia to ignore, but a coalition of Independents running for all 5 local, congressional-district seats would be hard to ignore. If an independent candidate has enough exposure so that his existence in the race is known to the majority of independent voters in his district, and if he does not alienate those voters to a substantial degree, an independent candidate can start the race with a base consisting of almost 1/3 of the electorate. Since a huge percentage of the Democratic and Republican Party's base is ready to abandon their gang at the drop-of-a-hat, but they remain unwilling to crossover and vote for the other, 'dark' side (the 'other major political party'), Independent candidates are perfectly positioned to steal away a large group of party stalwarts who are disgusted with their gang's crooked political shenanigans, and who are now inclined to vote Independent.

Visit SDIndependents.com, a site built by Joe Ryan, so that Independent voters can hook-up, exchange ideas, and have fun (something Democrtas and Republicans are incapable of doing at their Tea Party and Coffee Party events).

VOTERS ARE TIRED OF THE PARTISAN, PARTY POLITICS DRIVEN BY CORRUPT FUNDING, AND THEY PROBABLY WILL NOT VOTE FOR 'INDEPENDENTS' WHO EMBRACE THE MONEY-MACHINE AND WHO ACT AS QUASI-DEMOCRATS, OR QUASI-REPUBLICANS: Why would a voter choose an independent candidate over someone from the major party they preferred in the past, if the Independent candidate acts just like a quasi-Democrat or quasi-Republican, or if they ignore the reason many voters are registering as 'Independents', and they grovel for money from corrupt lobbyist and contributors who do not have the District's best interest in mind. The term 'independent' certainly implies that a candidate with that label will think more 'independently' than a partisan who caters their views to their party's platform or their contributor's desires; but the term also implies an 'independence' from corrupt sources of political-cash. That's why I humbly suggest that any candidate running as an independent consider accepting as little money as possible from large contributors, and that they utilize a grass roots type of campaign that emphasizes their independent logic and their independence from corrupt sources of money.

JOE RYAN IS OFFERING TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND PRACTICAL ADVICE TO INDEPENDENTS WHO WANT TO RUN FOR CONGRESS IN 2010: I do not claim to be an expert or a political consultant, however I did learn a few things in 2008 that may be helpful to anyone considering running as an Independent for Congress in 2010, and I am willing to share what I've learned with others who are contemplating a similar run. Contact me at the 'contact link' if you are interested in some support and advice.

SNEAKY MAJOR PARTY OPPONENTS CLAIM TO BE 'INDEPENDENTS' NOW: I don't doubt that Duncan Hunter is a brave guy on the battlefield; however, Duncan is now ashamed of his party affiliation, and he is shamelessly running-away from his party label as fast as he can!!! Joe Ryan is the only Independent in the race! The Republicans and Democrats are the corrupt, criminal parties/gangs that are ruining this country, and the libertarian party has the burning-tire of their de-regulation philosophy tied around its political neck; So, I understand why my partisan, party opponents might want to deceive the voters now. So now, Duncan sheds his party label like a chameleon, as he proceeds to appropriate my statutory designation (independent), and he proceeds to make it his own. Duncan D. Hunter started calling himself "independent" two days after their Union-Tribune buddies hid the only real 'independent' in the race (me), from the public's view. That was convenient.

THERE HE GOES AGAIN: Duncan Hunter (the Republican party candidate) sent out a multi-page flyer yesterday (9/30) where he used the words "independence", and "independent" over and over; but in four glossy pages, you cannot find the word 'republican'. His slick handlers even ended one page with the words, "Duncan is an Independent". Then on the next page it said "thinker, ...". Now, that was slick! 10/07 Reprise: Expensive, glossy mailers flood the district as Duncan Hunter sends out another mailer where he features the word Independent in big bold letters. Meanwhile, the word, 'republican' cannot be located anywhere in his campaign material.

THERE WON'T EVEN BE A MEANINGFUL ELECTION CONTEST IN NOVEMBER WITHOUT JOE RYAN ON THE BALLOT, SINCE THE DEMOCRAT HAS ALREADY THROWN IN THE TOWEL:

Joe Ryan and Duncan Hunter participated in the biggest parade in San Diego this past weekend (July 4th, Independence Day)), but the Democrat took a pass on meeting and greeting 40,000 voters. What does that say about his intentions and why he is in the race. He seems to be going though the motions just to fill a spot on the ballot, so attention doesn't fall outside of the two major party candidates. The party isn't giving him the usual money to run, so he's just there doing nothing. In the primary, he just put up a few signs around La Mesa and El Cajon, while ignoring the rest of the County.
Without someone like Joe Ryan in the race, there won't be any candidate able to effectively challenge the way the two major party's behave during and after election season. Without Joe Ryan on the ballot, the election contest for the 52nd District race won't be an election, it will be a meaningless, boring, walkover, devoid of interesting debate. Duncan Hunter will stomp the Democrat by a relatively gigantic margin, without ever having to explain his family's support for the Fannie Mae bailout, Wall Street's deregulation of the derivatives market & deep water drilling off Pacific Beach.
Voters can ensure that the two major party candidates will be confronted about selling the nation out, time and time again, by going to the ballot-petition page, before July 15th (where you can print out a ballot petition form). The page contains complete instructions on how to fill in the ballot petition, along with a mailing address for completed petitions.

Note: The deadline set by the State for submission of the form is approaching, so please complete the form and send it in, by July 22nd, 2010, or it will be too late to use this form. The entire signature gathering process ends on august 6th, but after the last week of July, a different form must be used for the last 10 days of the petition gathering campaign.
