Joe Ryan, candidate for Congress in the 52nd District
The Only INDEPENDENT Candidate Running in the the 52nd District

Joe Ryan Does not Accept Money from Anyone!

US Foreign Policy

JOE RYAN BELIEVES THAT OUR COUNTRIES FOREIGN POLICY MUST BE ALTERED TO REFLECT THE UNITED STATES FINANCIAL CONDITION, AND TO ENSURE THAT WE GET BETTER VALUE FOR MONEY SPENT, SO CRITICAL FOREIGN POLICY OBJECTIVES ARE MET
Joe Ryan is astounded at the way successive administrations have spent money fighting terrorism, fighting drug cartels, and opposing rogue states like North Korea, without showing respect for the taxpayers by making sure the money is not misappropriated or wasted in useless, ill-conceived programs. Over and over we read of vasts amount of money being stolen or otherwise misappropriated by our 'partners' in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. What's a billion here and a billion there.
Every dime spent opposing the leader of North Korea has been wasted, as every agreement made is broken at-will by Kim, and the threat grows year over year without abatement. Kim keeps getting the benefit of agreements he makes to stop proliferation and missile testing, and then he breaks the agtreements as soon as he's received performance from the United States, South Korea, Japan, and other interested nations.

JOE RYAN THINKS THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN IS A WASTE OF TROOP LIVES AND MONEY
Nothing illustrates the stark difference between Joe Ryan, the Independent candidate for congress and Duncan Hunter jr., the sitting representative in congress for the 52nd District, than they're approach to fighting terror. Duncan Hunter is convinced that we should fight a huge full-out war in Afghanistan. He latched on to the GOP's 'surge' lexicon, and he has stated over and over that we need to do a troop surge in Afghanistan. I guess you can't blame Hunter jr since he was just a kid in kindergarten when the Russians tried to win a war in Afghanistan. Those who don't pay attention to history are deemed to repeat their mistakes. Duncan Hunter must not know about the history of Afghanistan and what happens to armies that try and conquer that land. Joe Ryan concluded several years ago, that the United Staes will inevitably be forced to declare victory and withdraw from Iraq. Then the Taliban will once again take over, and the entire episode will represent a gigantic waste of money and lives.

JOE RYAN THINKS WE SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON STOPPING NORTH KOREA, IRAN, AND OTHER COUNTRIES FROM DEVELOPING NUCLEAR WEAPONS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE

Joe Ryan believes that we cannot allow any more countries to go 'nuclear'. Joe Ryan thinks the testing of missiles by North Korea and the development of nuclear weapons technology by the north koreans is the most pressing foreign policy matter facing our country

JOE RYAN THINKS OUR TRADE POLICY SHOULD BE TIED TO THE INTEREST OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND NOT TO THE INTERNATIONAL SET OF FREE AGENTS WHO CREATE SO-CALLED 'FREE TRADE' PACTS FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT

US Trade policy has become increasingly bound-up and hopelessly constricted by the sovereignty busting 'free-trade' agreements that have been passed in waves over the last 20 years. The agreements are destructive and expensive to conceive, implement, and administer.
As the free market is gradually replaced by a worldwide, cross-border trade aparatus that's designed to strip wealth and control of capital and resources from the world's populace, effectively eliminating private property rights for the majority of the world's inhabitants, the gaggle of attorneys, Trade mission participants, and support staff required to implement, administer, and enforce the agreements grows year over year.

'Free Trade'. Sounds like a euphemism George Carlin could have fun with, as the pacts sold to us as 'free trade' have little to do with the freeing up restrictions on trade, so business can be done 'freely' between companies in separate nations, and instead, 'free trade' has everything to do with rigging markets in order that a tiny percentage of the population can benefit at everyone else's expense.
Joe Ryan is a capitalist, and he believes capitalism cannot survive a race to the bottom fostered by an economic climate wherein there is not a relatively level playing field. Free Trade pacts accelerated the pace at which the majority of the people in our nation and on the planet have been taken advantage of by those designing the rules. Joe Ryan would vote against trade pacts that did not provide for the welfare of the American people, rather than the welfare of a small percentage of people who clean-up financially by exploiting trade pact rules.

JOE RYAN BELIEVES THE CHINESE ECONOMIC-POLITICAL MODEL (CAPITALISM, MIXED WITH COMMUNISM) IS A DISASTER FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE US, CHINA, AND THE WORLD

Joe Ryan is not a fan of feeding the Chinese product-making machine. Joe Ryan is concerned about the effects on workers in the US, and elsewhere, and Joe Ryan is also deeply concerned about environmental issues related to China's overproduction of products. Joe Ryan believes the chinese are unfairly using the leverage gained through buying treasury bonds (the US's debt) to control the United State's domestic and foreign policy. Joe Ryan does not believe that's acceptable, so he would support initiatives that reduce US borrowing or bills aimed at curbing the ability of foreigners to influence US policy to the American people's detriment.
