The Only INDEPENDENT Candidate Running in the the 52nd District

Campaign Finance Reform

WHY CAMPAIGN REFORM - COMING FROM CONGRESS - IS ALWAYS DESTINED TO FAIL
Every Campaign Finance reform bill that comes out of Congress is flawed in one of two ways. First, most are illusory; the sponsors claim to be clamping down on one type of abusive practice or another, when in fact - like a game of three card monty - the bills Congress passes - which are normally written at Think Tanks and Foundations set-up by special interests - usually do more harm than good (by design).
Second, most attempts to limit political speech are doomed from the start, since the Courts will only allow limits on speech that are carefully tuned and limited in scope. Once the courts ruled that 'corporations' were citizens, it follows that limits on corporate donations to political campaigns would fall, sooner or later.

IT'S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO REGULATE POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS WITHIN CONSTITUTIONAL BOUNDS
Now that the Supreme Court has ruled that corporations can give unlimited amounts of money to candidate's for office, and that it's unconstitutional to stop them from contributing to candidates as they please, people on the left have been declaring that democracy is all but dead. Joe Ryan believes their predictions are premature and overstated. Remember, the Supreme Court declared that corporations can create political speech with as much cash as they want to spend, but the Supreme Court didn't dictate that we - the citizens - have to actually listen to the corporate speech, or read deceptive material coming from corporations.

CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM CANNOT COME FROM CONGRESS, IT CAN ONLY BE DELIVERED VIA THE WILL POWER OF THE VOTERS
Now that the Supreme Court has foreclosed further control over political contributions by Congress, only one solution will keep corporate money from dominating politics in America. The American public must reject corporate speech on it's own, by declaring that all corpoarte speech is presumably tainted by conflicts, and therefore unworthy of consideration. and by refusing to listen to corporate speech or to vote for any candidate who funds his campaign with corporate money (a form of corporate speech via a candidacy)
.

IF VOTERS WANT TO TAKE BACK CONTROL OVER THEIR COUNTRY FROM THE CORPORATIONS, THEY CAN VOTE FOR JOE RYAN.
It's simple: At some point voters of all pursuasions will need to join up and reject money-driven-politics or our democracy will be extinguished for good. The voters will have to impose a litmus test on all candidates running for office, so that candidate's come to understand, that accepting corporate money could be a death knell for their campaign
.

YOU CAN REJECT CORPORATE CONTROL OVER ELECTIONS STARTING RIGHT NOW

Here in the 52nd District, one candidate rejects all corporate money (Joe Ryan, the Independent). Meanwhile, the other candidates grub and grovel for any scraps their corporate masters might throw their way. Voting for Joe Ryan completely removes corporate control over the Congressional Rep from at least one congressional district. That's a start.

THERE WON'T EVEN BE A MEANINGFUL ELECTION CONTEST IN NOVEMBER WITHOUT JOE RYAN ON THE BALLOT, SINCE THE DEMOCRAT HAS ALREADY THROWN IN THE TOWEL:

Joe Ryan and Duncan Hunter participated in the biggest parade in San Diego this past weekend (July 4th, Independence Day)), but the Democrat took a pass on meeting and greeting 40,000 voters. What does that say about his intentions and why he is in the race. He seems to be going though the motions just to fill a spot on the ballot, so attention doesn't fall outside of the two major party candidates. The party isn't giving him the usual money to run, so he's just there doing nothing. In the primary, he just put up a few signs around La Mesa and El Cajon, while ignoring the rest of the County.
Without someone like Joe Ryan in the race, there won't be any candidate able to effectively challenge the way the two major party's behave during and after election season. Without Joe Ryan on the ballot, the election contest for the 52nd District race won't be an election, it will be a meaningless, boring, walkover, devoid of interesting debate. Duncan Hunter will stomp the Democrat by a relatively gigantic margin, without ever having to explain his family's support for the Fannie Mae bailout, Wall Street's deregulation of the derivatives market & deep water drilling off Pacific Beach.
Voters can ensure that the two major party candidates will be confronted about selling the nation out, time and time again, by going to the ballot-petition page, before July 15th (where you can print out a ballot petition form). The page contains complete instructions on how to fill in the ballot petition, along with a mailing address for completed petitions.
