Why I'm running for Congress By Joe Ryan
WHY I'M RUNNING:
* Our Country needs New, untainted leadership at the local, State and National levels, so Joe Ryan is running to win, and trying, in the process, to stimulate activity by other Independents: Joe Ryan believes that Independent voters are the only political force that can stop the two major party's leaders from ruining what's left of our country and it's constitution. Joe Ryan believes Independents should organize, and then take decisive, high-level steps to wrest power away from corrupted major party heads, so we can start managing our governments, instead of the governments managing and menacing the citizens, in order to promote policies that the majority of the electorate oppose.
* If I make the ballot, most polls indicate I will win the election, despite having less name recognition than the incumbent, and the Democratic party's candidate. A number of factors and circumstances, that in the past, would have led to an inevitable defeat, are working in my favor.
Based upon polls being published in assorted media, voters are extremely irritated with Incumbents from either party, and they are willing and anxious to vote for unknown 'newcomers', as well as any candidate running as an Independent. That's why ALL of Joe Ryan's opponents, LIE to voters and sell themselves as 'Independents', on their campaign websites, and in campaign literature. The fact that ALL of my opponents are trying to pretend they represent 'Independents', illustrates who would win a three-way battle between an Independent, A Republican, and Democrat. In times past, it was all about 'name recognition'. Polls indicate that 'name recognition' is a an election factor has been neutralized by current voter attitudes, and that 'name recognition', where the name in question is associated with either major party, may be a negative drag on a candidate's campaign.
* I am in the race to win, but I also have joined the race to fill a void: Independent voters make up approximately 1/3 of the electorate, but due to rules created by the two major parties, Independent candidates almost never attempt to run for office. It's preposterous that 1/3 of the voters, many of whom have turned there back on the two major parties, are forced to vote for candidates that represent the Democrats and Republican Party machines. While there may some independents who don't want to vote for me (Joe Ryan) - for one reason or another - my candidacy at least gives them a third viable option.
* I am better qualified to serve in Congress than my major party opponents: While I'm not a Nobel prize winner or a CEO of a fortune 500 Corporation, my Law Degree provides me with specific tools and skills that enable me to write and understand complicated legislation; whereas, persons who have not been specifically trained in the law, would need advice and third party legal consultants, at their side, through each step of the legislative process. Representatives used to draft legislation themselves, but now, most legislation is written at Foundations like the Peterson Institute. That's part of the problem. Congressional representatives are not familiar with the legislation they vote on, and they are unwilling or due to time constraints, unable to read the bills they vote on. Sending representatives to Congress who aren't specifically trained in the law, can't help but exasperate the problem.
* It's Important that someone run for high office, in a manner that removes the taint from politics, so faith in democracy is not damaged any further: I believe the way I conduct my political business send a message to voters and to the two major parties. Many voters have 'had it' with politicians who lie and deceive. All the deception, as well as just about every other problem that we have with the legislation and executive policies that irritate and enrage voters can be traced to the influence of money. It's absolutely true, in a political sense, that 'money is the root of all evil'. I work hard to come up with money I can fund my campaign with. I'm not wealthy or even well-off, but I sacrifice and spend my own money, to send a message about how we need to move forward, helping ourselves to help our communities, without any help from people who are beholden to others, due to conflicts of interest.
* A victory is entirely within reach: The crowd was shocked when David Beat Goliath: If Joe Ryan makes the ballot, don't be surprised if he wins the election. It was shocking to people who weren't aware of David's plan, when he overcame what seemed to be enormous odds to pull off a stunning victory over Goliath. Goliath's strength did him no good, because David had a simple but effective weapon that he utilized to maximum advantage. David couldn't beat Goliath without a sound strategy, good timing and skill.
I have a sound strategy, to win the election (providing I make the ballot); my timing is right; and i have the skill to defeat a major party opponent and serve honorably in Congress, if given the chance.
THERE WON'T EVEN BE A MEANINGFUL ELECTION CONTEST IN NOVEMBER WITHOUT JOE RYAN ON THE BALLOT, SINCE THE DEMOCRAT HAS ALREADY THROWN IN THE TOWEL:
Joe Ryan and Duncan Hunter participated in the biggest parade in San Diego this past weekend (July 4th, Independence Day)), but the Democrat took a pass on meeting and greeting 40,000 voters. What does that say about his intentions and why he is in the race. He seems to be going though the motions just to fill a spot on the ballot, so attention doesn't fall outside of the two major party candidates. The party isn't giving him the usual money to run, so he's just there doing nothing. In the primary, he just put up a few signs around La Mesa and El Cajon, while ignoring the rest of the County.
Without someone like Joe Ryan in the race, there won't be any candidate able to effectively challenge the way the two major party's behave during and after election season. Without Joe Ryan on the ballot, the election contest for the 52nd District race won't be an election, it will be a meaningless, boring, walkover, devoid of interesting debate. Duncan Hunter will stomp the Democrat by a relatively gigantic margin, without ever having to explain his family's support for the Fannie Mae bailout, Wall Street's deregulation of the derivatives market & deep water drilling off Pacific Beach.
Voters can ensure that the two major party candidates will be confronted about selling the nation out, time and time again, by going to the ballot-petition page, before July 15th (where you can print out a ballot petition form). The page contains complete instructions on how to fill in the ballot petition, along with a mailing address for completed petitions.
